It’s April 2nd. 2009.
That means its been almost three months since Mama Jello has made an entry. Well, you know about our ridiculous week-long overseas trip, traveling alone to Hong Kong and the ordeal it took to make connections through the various airports in Japan. Noah and I survived it, and had a lot of fun when we finally got there, playing with cousins, visiting grand uncles and great grandmas and eating great food. On the way back, we were relieved to have Mama Yellow travel with us to Japan to ensure we made our connection on New Year’s Day and we had fun exploring a local mall.
Just days after returning, Noah was invited to celebrate our neighbor, Hannah’s 2nd birthday! The kids were all entertained by MyGym trainers with all kinds of fun activities, while the adults ran around like paparazzi.
In January, we continued our search for housing and having no S Factor classes to teach, I resorted to working lots of second shift hours to support our Sensor Test. You already saw from a previous post all of my birthday pics from Disneyland, but we also got to spend about two weeks with Cousin Ling and Dren and family, which means more play dates with Caitlyn!
In February, between Jon going to Vegas for a Bachelor Party to our long weekend in Boston for Valentine’s Day to visit both Berna and Brenna (double whammy! lucky me!), Dinner with the Hasty’s, Nelson and Jamia’s wedding, Chimmy’s bachelor party and more late nights supporting test, you can imagine how exhausted we were when March rolled around. In term’s of milestones, Noah managed his first steps (running after food, what else?).
First thing in March, the family took a trip to Hawaii! It’s supposed to be the most exciting thing ever, right? Jon’s first time, Noah’s first time, Chimmy and Joy’s wedding…well, Noah was having fun the first day or two. The weather was a bit on the cold side, but I took him to the beach none the less. We walked around Waikiki and enjoyed our towering room that overlooked the ocean. The next day we decided to rent a car and drive around the island, and Noah started to deteriorate. By Friday morning, he had a fever of 103 and couldn’t get out of bed for the wedding (Sorry Joy, No Ring Boy). We finally made it for a round of pictures and a yummy brunch with the beautiful bride and groom, but proceeded to the emergency room after that. They diagnosed him with pneumonia, and prescribed a load of antibiotics after putting him in an x-ray device that looked like an archaic baby torture chamber (forcing us to wait outside closed doors no less!). Needless to say, we were all relieved to get home.
By the time we returned, my Sensor had completed it’s delivery to the customer! It was time to start packing for our impending move. We gave ourselves a two-week window to move a little each weekend and give ourselves one last weekend in March to clean up and prep for renters. Fortunately, we had help unpacking and it hasn’t been too much of a displacement. Noah’s room looks like we just picked it up and dropped it off in Location B.
Sadly though, it’s the first week in April, and still no renters…
But Noah is deliciously enjoying his new diggs, running around in circles with his arms outstretched like Frankenstein , laughing maniacally, acting out his temper tantrums as a 17-month-old should and we are postponing any vacations at least through the remainder of spring and summer to just relax and do as little as possible.
Thanks for checking in!
Love,
Mama Jello
